How You Can Enjoy God's Richest Blessings

________________________________________________________________

What is all this we hear about being "saved"? Or what about being "born again"?

It is really pretty simple, although it is not something to be taken lightly. We must first ask what we need to be saved from. Simply put, we need to be saved from ourselves -- or more specifically, from sin.

But you might say, "I'm not that bad a person. I try to do right, and I love people. Why should I need to be saved from sin? I wouldn't say I'm so sinful."

Maybe you're right. You're maybe not all that bad a person. That is, you're not all that bad compared to someone you're thinking of who's worse than you. But how do you stack up against absolute pefection? God, the Father is absolutely perfect. To live in the perfect world He has prepared for us, we must be absolutely perfect too. Otherwise there is no way we can enjoy the perfect joy and peace He has planned for us. The good news is we can become spotlessly clean -- free to live apart from sin and evil.

The bottom line is, if you're not already aware of your own sin, you're not ready for this. If that is you, don't bother going any further. Back out of this page now.

If you are aware of your sin, God has been convicting you. That means He's calling you. He loves you and wants you to enter a special relationship with Him.

So how do you enter into this special relationship with Him?

It's simple. As mentioned above, you need to be aware of your sin. Then you need to be willing to let go of the reins of your life and turn them over to Jesus. That means you ask Him to be Lord of your life. Give your life to Him. How do you do that? Just decide in your heart that you want to do it, then tell Him. Tell Him you're giving your life to Him, and that you want Him to be your Lord and your God.

You see, God set a plan into place by which Jesus, the only sinless human who ever lived or ever will live, could voluntarily lay down his life in our place. When Jesus did this, some 2000 years ago, He enabled us to have our sins forgiven -- our slates wiped clean -- just by turning to Him.

That's it. Once you've asked Him to be Lord of your life, you may sense some immediate changes. Or it may take a little while before you notice any changes. But you will change. When you accept Jesus Christ, your old self dies and a new spirit is born in you. God will help you change. It will be for the better. Trust Him. He will not let you down.

This last part is important. When you ask Him into your life, a new spirit is born within you. That spirit will grow and, with time, you will become more like Jesus, our perfect example. That is if you properly nourish your new spirit it will grow (just like you must feed a baby the right food for him to grow, you must now feed your spirit the right "spiritual food").

Find a good Bible-believing, Christian church and begin attending. Get yourself a Bible and start reading it. Talk to Jesus every day -- tell Him what you're thinking and about what you're facing each day. Ask Him to direct you. God's word is the spiritual food that will help you grow. You get His word through prayer, Bible reading, and fellowshipping with other believers.

When you have done this, send us an email and tell us about it. It will be encouraging to us.

 God bless...
